Charlie grew up in Michigan and took up gardening at a young age on his family's 85 acre farm. During high school, he started working at a local garden center which lead him to pursue a degree in Horticulture. A graduate of Michigan State University, he has a dual degree in Horticulture Landscape Design/Build and Sports & Commercial Turfgrass Management. Outside the classroom he has continued his education by becoming a Michigan Certified Nurseryman and a Certified Landscape Technician.

He joined the Hursthouse team in the spring of 2005. He uses his organizational expertise to support on-site crews by coordinating subcontractors, scheduling project sequencing, ensuring accurate design interpretation, and keeping clients informed during construction. A great problem-solver, Charlie can make even the most complex project run smoothly. After a rewarding day of managing projects, he enjoys taking his passion to his residence in Arlington Heights where he has an opportunity to get his hands dirty trying new things.
